INTASC Standards

Artifacts and Reflections

Artifacts: Files

Standard #1

Standard 1 focuses on learner development, which is why I chose a project about How to Accomodate Learners with Bipolar Disorder from my The Exceptional Child course.

Standard #2

Standard 2 focuses on learning differences. I have chosen an artifact from my The Exceptional Child course that shows the setup of my inclusive classroom that accommodates many learning differences.

Standard #3

For Standard 3, I have chosen a 5E Interdisciplinary Lesson Plan for a Kindergarten Science unit about the weather from my Introduction to Scientific Inquiry course. This fits Standard 3's "professional learning" aspect.

Standard #4

Standard 4 focuses on content knowledge. I have chosen an artifact from my Math for Elementary Teachers course that shows my knowledge of the importance of content knowledge through a mock lesson plan design.

Standard #5

Standard 5 is about how educators apply their content. I have chosen a Practice Reader's Assessment paper that I completed for my Literacy Development course, that showcases how I applied the content of the story to develop critical thinking and engagement.

Standard #6

Standard 6 focuses on the assessment part of teaching. I have chosen a Multicultural Lesson Plan presentation from my Literacy Development course as the artifact because the assessment tools I used for the lesson were well thought out and effective.

Standard #7

Standard 7 is all about planning. The file I've included that coincides with this standard is a behavior and lesson plan from the Introduction to Physical and Health Education course.

Standard #8

Standard 8 focuses on instructional strategies, which is why I have chosen a Reader's Notebook project I completed for my Literacy Development course. I feel that it showcases many different instructional strategies and aids in student understanding.

Standard #9

Standard 9 is about professional learning, which is what this file features. It is a teacher interview from my Service Learning Project from my Introduction to Teaching course.

Standard #10

Standard 10 is about collaboration and learning, so I have chosen a set of observation notes I took while attending an educational field trip to the Turnstone Center in Fort Wayne, Indiana while attending my Introduction to Physical and Health Education course.
